The Forgotten Tribe: LinkedIn’s Quiet Originals

15 Oct

The Advocates
(redeemed from the LinkedIn Activists – heart intact, ego omitted

“Empathy isn’t a campaign. It’s a practice.”

They post about inclusion, sustainability, ethics, and fairness – but without choreography. No glossy banners, no corporate hashtags. Their advocacy is lived, not laminated.

They call out systems gently, stand up for colleagues quietly, and never confuse performative virtue with principled action. For them, the truest activism is consistency.

Their power lies in credibility; their authority, in authenticity.

Signature moves:

  • Shares lived experience before statistics.
  • Centres other voices, especially the unheard.
  • Thanks, educates, uplifts – but never preaches. Their advocacy is a conversation, not a lecture.
  • Knows when to stop talking and start helping.

Self-test:
Ever deleted a “statement post” because it felt self-serving, and chose to make a phone call instead?
You’re already an Advocate.
