Postscript: Walking Together
When I began writing these reflections, I did not set out as a teacher with answers. I began as a fellow traveller, trying to name what I, too, have felt in the quiet corners of my own life. Fear is not something any of us escape. It moves through our histories, our families, our work, our hearts. To pretend otherwise would be a lie.
And yet, in naming these fears together, I have found something unexpected. They do not feel quite as heavy when spoken aloud. They lose a little of their power to isolate. What once felt like my fear begins to feel like our fear. And in that shared recognition, there is a strange kind of strength.

If even one of these essays has helped you name a fear you could not put into words before, then this journey has been worthwhile. I have walked with these same shadows, and I still do. Perhaps the difference now is that they no longer feel like mine alone.
Fear will remain. It always has, and it always will. But so too will courage, compassion, and the quiet reminder that we are enough – even in our trembling, even in our uncertainty.
As Dan Brown writes in The Secret of Secrets: “May our philosophies keep pace with our technologies. May our compassion keep pace with our powers. And may love, not fear, be the engine of change.”
Thank you for walking this path with me. I hope we keep walking together.
